A granny annexe in Lincoln

Barry Kearns say that one of his neighbours (a few doors down) had been granted planning permission for an outbuilding in his rear garden to be used by his mother-in-law when she came to visit. The outbuilding was a little studio room, with an en-suite bathroom and a small kitchen area.

Barry applied for something very similar and was surprised when the application was refused. We appealed on his behalf, arguing that the outbuilding was modest in size and scale, located at the very end of the garden, similar to many other outbuildings in this area and, in particular, almost identical to something else that the council has recently approved. We were not surprised with the inspector found in our favour, and the appeal was allowed.
